A Chinese Archaic ritual Bronze steamer (Yan).
Western Zhou dynasty (c. 1046–771 BCE).
Tapered form, to three lobed feet. Each foot decorated with masked Taotie. The interior fitted with hinged grate. Marked "Fu Gui" to the interior, probably referencing Queen Fu Gui. Looped handles.
Dimensions are 38cm high x 24cm wide.
Provenance - From the private collection of a prominent Hong Kong collector. Left China to Taiwan circa 1940 and later to Hong Kong. Collection moved to West England circa 1998.
