Frontis of Darwin to each volume, 2 plates. ix,539,396,418 pages, Index. Green cloth, large octavos with titles in gilt. Volume I - staining and wear to boards, corners and edges. Spine complete with top and tail damage. Lettering fading. Some small play to book. Pages clean and tight with minimal ageing. Volume 2 - Heavy bleaching to front board in particular commensurate with water contact with heavy residue to front endpapers. Rear board affected less so, ditto endpapers. Scuffs etc to edges and spine ends. Spine complete. Tissue guard loose. Pages generally clean. Volume 3 - similar condition to volume one. Not the best condition by a long way, but complete with the three volumes.
