Written by Rev. Edward Stanley of Alderley (1779-1849), a rector and expert ornithologist with an interest in education and natural sciences.Profusely illustrated with engraved full plates and vignettes throughout, each volume with a full frontispiece illustration. In a full cloth binding. Externally cloth is grubby with wear to extremities and bumped corners. Both have finger crush to spine ends and ragged damage, particularly to volume 2.
