No Jackets. 1st Editions. 1894 Blackie and Son first edition hardbacks, set of four large volumes (Vol I Part I and 2 1894, Vol II Parts 1 and 2 1895; All four in original bottle-green cloth with gilt lettering, which is in a generally poor condition with staining, bleaching and marks. Corners are bumped and scuffed but Spines are complete and all books are tight. Within, pages are very clean and tight. Endpapers are aged. Numerous B&W illustrations and very good colour plates. Overall acceptable due to interiors, reflected in estimate. This lot is part of the collection that came from one of the oldest aristocratic families in British history.
