2 Volumes - Olympia 1936. Nazi Regime Collector's Albums of Photographs to commemorate the Berlin Games. 2 Volumes in German. Original dust jackets are missing. Boards have corner and edge wear. With splits to the spine creases. And top and tail finger pull damage and scuffs. A little play in the boards but the endpaper creases are not split. One of the endpaper has pulled exposing webbing before the pre-title page. Exterior marks and scuffs. One volume covers the Summer games and the other the Winter games of 1936. Summer Games: Frontispiece photograph of Hitler and others giving the salute at the opening ceremony (Red cross drawn across Hitler and his name) The paste-down photographs start on page 4 and continue throughout in various sizes, all B&W. No missing photos noted in the main sections (each denoting each sporting discipline). Full page plates (colour inc: Hindenburg and B&W). Mild foxing throughout and pages starting to brown with age. Winter Games: Frontispiece photo is of Hitler et al signing autographs (!) The actual Winter section is much reduced and the bulk of the second volume includes more of the Summer Games together with a history of the Olympics in general. This volume has much more colour in it including colour paste-down photos. Also a fold-out map of the Berlin Olympic Village complex Similar foxing as before. These are rare volumes and the estimate is only curtailed due to condition.
