A large Japanese Satsuma vase.
Meiji period, 19th century.
Hexagonal form, painted court scenes with stylised border patterns. Signed to base.
Together with a Fukagawa Imari pallete plate.
The Satsuma vase has a long crack starting at the neck and running down one of the sides and along over two other panels. The neck has been repaired.
The plate has a rim chip to the front which has had a rudimentary repair. The chip does not go all the way through the rim.
