A pair of Large Japanese Arita porcelain vases.
Edo period, Circa 1680-1700.
Baluster form, with covers. Painted with continuous fish rising from the water, below blossoming Pine and stylised clouds. 
The shoulder decorated with Cartouche of Dragons, between Rabbits in grasslands. 
Height - 62cm (24").

More Information

The only damage is to the inner rim of the underside of one of the lids. the very tip of finial of the other lid is chipped. There is also an area of roughness to the top of one of the vases. I am not sure if this happened during the potting/firing process or shortly after. It feels like it was done during the potting.
